MBTI Analysis

Home MBTI Analysis New Page 2

This website will exclusively be for the study of the Meyer-Briggs Type Indicator. It's an interesting topic in psychology which has baffled me the whole summer. Now it's easy for me to analyze people, but thus it's still hard to analyze myself.

I think at the moment that I'm an INTP (Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, Perceiving) But I could very well be an INTJ too. (Same as INTP except, the INTJ judges rather than perceives.) I'll explain all of this to everyone I promise.

You can take a test, to see your own type at www.similarminds.com  . There are other tests out there, but this website has the most reliable on MBTI and the Ennegram (but this website will focus on MBTI.) On the Ennegram I either get Type 1 or Type 5w4.

Go take it now, then come back here.

Okay, now I'll explain what everything means.

There are four different preferences people have.

First of all, there are introverts and extraverts. Introverts prefer to be alone or with a friend or two rather than with a huge group of people. Extraverts prefer to be on the spotlight at all times, they are the ones that talk all the time and are energized by being with people.

Examples of Introverts: Carl Jung, Albert Einstein, Hillary Clinton, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Michael Jordan

Examples of Extraverts: Howard Dean, Bill Clinton, FDR, JFK, Homer Simpson

Extraverts make up 60% of the population while Introverts make up only 40% of the population.
(In America, Extraverts and Introverts are 50/50 though, actually with Introverts having a slight lead.)

There is also on how you receive information, do you prefer to trust the facts or your inner gut.
That's where you get to Sensors and Intuitives. Another difference is that Sensors are more practical and are realistic folks. While the Intuitives are more creative and original than the Sensors.

Examples of Sensors: Donald Trump, John Kerry, George Washington, Joe Friday, Clint Eastwood

Examples of Intuitives: Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawking, Gandhi, Eleanor Roosevelt, Benjamin Franklin

Sensors make up 75% of the population, while Intuitives only make up 25% of it.
(In America it's around 70/30, with more Sensors than Intuitives.)

Then you get to the preference which determines on how you make decisions, with your head or your heart. The people that make decisions with their head are Thinkers, and the people who make decisions with their heart are Feelers. More women are feelers and more men are thinkers.

Examples of Feelers: Eleanor Roosevelt, Jane Fonda, George W. Bush, Gandhi, Piglet
Example of Thinkers: Albert Einstein, Stewie Griffin, John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, Eeyore

In America, Thinkers and Feelers are about equal in population and worldwide as well.

Then you get to the final preference, on how you want to make decisions and go through life. There are people who are always organized, like to have a planned life and make decisions quickly. They are the Judgers. And there are the people who are more spontaneous, laid-back, "Live and Let Live", and don't like to make decisions. They are the Perceivers.
Judgers and Perceivers are 50/50 worldwide. In America, Judgers make up 60% of the population and Perceivers only make 40%.

Examples of Judgers: John McLaughlin, George W. Bush, Colin Powell, Gandhi, John Adams, Yogi Bear, Harold (H&K Go to White Castle)
Examples of Perceivers: John Kerry, Bill Clinton, Benjamin Franklin, FDR, Madonna, Elvis, Kumar (H&K Go to White Castle).

There will be more updates eventually.
